I understood your point.. But I also think that MANY doctors if not the majority, would say, that Marijuana should be legal, especially for medicinal reasons.
I think that even most police officers think that marijuana should be legal and most politicians. The problem is, no politician is going to risk the election and lose the vote because of any effort to legalize it.
Also, the alcohol lobby spends huge amounts of money every year to fight the right for the legalazation of marijuana..
Why you ask? Because there are many, many direct studies that show, people who smoke tend to drink less alcohol.
Marijuana is the enemy of alchohol lobbyists. That is why it is kept illegal.

In this country today, it is also easier for a kid, teen, etc. to get their hands on illegal drugs than it is for them to get alcohol. If drugs were legalized and controlled, at least it could be monitored and as you said, supervised by an MD.

I stopped smoking weed a long time ago. It started to make me anxious and uncomfortable when I used it. But for a long time, I did use it to self medicate. It was one of the few things that helped me relax as most of you know, I'm kinda high strung. But after a long day of work, school, etc. It enabled me to take a deep breath and relax. And in my opinion and the opinion of most all my doctor friends, it was a better alternative than popping a pill.

The argument for medicinal marijuana, recreational marijuana, the growth of HEMP as a fuel, as a material for making all sorts of goods, as a cash crop, etc is blindly ignored, year after year.

Anyone who says, it's okay to drink a glass of wine but not take a hit off a joint is wildy misguided.

Don't you think that the height of irony is someone who says, all drugs are bad unless supervised by an MD..
- Then immediately states, that they use caffine "all the time"..
Is Caffine not a drug? Is Tobacco not a drug?

To alter your body.

You yourself said you had to stop smoking, it made you "anxious and uncomfortable." Was your mind clear then?
