it depends on how many minutes you get...i pay $30 for unlimited data, which i think is the same for non iphone plans. the higher minute plans are $20 a month. i guess the benefit is that you get text messaging, so if you do a lot of texting (which i don't), then it would be better.

From what I've read CDMA is better at penetrating buildings and trees which are abundant where I live

However, Verizon is still better than Sprint for my house. I used to have Sprint before AT&T and another neighbor still has them and has problems.

Here in rockland county, AT&T is better than Verizon. There are quite a few parts of northern rockland that have very lousy coverage on Verizon, yet AT&T has perfect coverage. I have yet to actually find a dead spot in rockland where there is not at least 2 bars of coverage on AT&T.

Yes, I forgot about the combo plans. For me, I get the minimum $40 voice plan. When I had a Verizon smartphone, it was $45/month for data. I think now they have a combo plan for $80, so it would be $40 for data and $40 for voice.

As for AT&T, they charge $30/month for Blackberry, but for others it is $20/month. The iPhone plan is the same as the "Mediamax 200" plan I had for my Treo.

Clear as a bell. Which is the situation with a lot of people not just you. An issue that a change in carries may solve. I use the old 30 try it out deal. If it dosen't work where i need it to back it goes.

Yup. Go re-read what they said before the iPhone launch. They all were expecting Apple to launch a phone but in reality had no clue what they were talking about.

All their predictions pointed to an iPod Nano like device with cell phone functionality tacked on. What was released was much much different.

The drastic upswings and downswings that Apple falls victim to is due to a few analysts who have no clue what the industry is doing...

You are forgetting that Apple approached Verizon initially. Verizon refused the terms of Apple's deal so its their loss. Cingular (at the time, now AT&T) bit and now they get the exclusive...

Didn't know that they approached Verizon...damn that Verizon! I guess with the coverage they have, they don't need gimmicks, at least that's what they told me when I asked why they don't have something similar to rollover minutes and early nights.
