I bought one on June 29th and tried to activate right away but it took several days for my activation to go through. Most likely I am not included in that 146k figure.

One thing for sure, Apple is lookin at what everyone is saying about their product and as time goes on there are gonna be some changes that will comply with the most common wish list. I don't own one but it seems that the verdict is about 70/30 in favor of the device which would take it out of the i-Dud catagory. Will I buy one? Perhaps.

Checked one out at the Apple store the other day. I guess it just seems like more of a personal entertainment device then a phone to me.

I can live with $137 a share since it was at $93 four months ago.

I bought two and didnt activate the second until Monday. I know alot of people who were not able to activate until after monday because the activation proceess was overwhelmed.

The activations for the first two days have noting to do with actual sales...you also have a ton of sales that were people buying to resell or wait for an unlock method.

No question that the network will limit sales.

However Apple is getting a lot more cash from AT&T.

In a recent review it was stated:

Before anything else, it's a phone. And it has to be, because if it's an awful phone, no one's going to use it as their phone, get it? Well, Apple obviously succeeded here. We found nearly everything about making and receiving calls on the iPhone to be dead simple -- scratch that, pleasurable, even. It's almost enough to make us call home every weekend. (Almost.)

The fact that it provides entertainment seems in my view to be a small advantage and the last reason i would consider purchasing it.

I have a question. I am on Cingular right now and my contract ends in september. If I buy an iphone with a new contract (family talk plan), do I have to buy the 20 per month data plan? I really don't need that kind of plan... Is there any special way to buy it or something so that I don't have to buy a data plan. Btw, I will probably buy in a store, not online...
