Testicular fortitude is one of the best options regarding this issue.

Their mothers should do something about it, not the government. I think there should be a law your shoes match your pocketbook ....Ridiculous, not really, it's the same thing. It is someone's own decision how they wish to dress in public. A dress code for a business or school is a different issue. You can walk on the streets dressed the way you want but don't think you're coming to work for me dressed like that.

On a final note; Here's the flip side.

The clothing that we wear and the way that we wear it make a definite statement about us—our beliefs, attitude, and intentions. The styles that we choose state who we are and what we stand for. Clothing sends out a message, a statement to others about you. Clothing can whisper conscientiousness, stability, high moral standards. Or it can shout rebellion and discontent. It can mark you as trustworthy or, without your realizing it, brand you as worthless. Today a person can often be judged (fair or unfair, right or wrong) on the basis of how they dress and groom themselves.

When it comes to young people the issue is even more confusing because Clothing is their symbol of independence and individuality. The only problem is that, as a youth, their personality is still in a state of flux, still developing, still changing. They may want to make a statement concerning their individuality, but they may not be too sure either what that statement should say or how to say it.

Having said that i agree we can and should defend the right of people to dress in a way that suits their taste. But when their taste suggests an immoral life-style, promotes the debased thinking and conduct that is popularized by the world then that's where i draw the line.

It may be a persons primary right to dress as he chooses but the larger questions is what does your attire say about you as a person?
Generally speaking most of us react when we see someone dress in a way that arouses our attention. Weather it's a skirt too short, a blouse that reveals to much neckline or a man who demonstrates a plumbers crack. Each of these occurances along with countless other appearl violations no doubt get our attention in a way that raises our eyebrows of dissapproval. Perhaps that's the point is it not. The majority of people prefer modest dress that demonstrates good taste some class and a sense of pride. If we just take a moment and ask perhaps what we will hear is that for the most part people are offended when people press upon others their dis-tasteful fashion decisions.

How do we solve the problem? That's another discussion.( Apparently they have entire TV shows dedicated to that end) .For now though it seems to me that just saying that it's the right of other people to dress the way they wish right or wrong and to meekly to follow standards set by others, even when they go against your own common sense values is a cop out when it comes to upholding good standards for dress and grooming.

Now I'm done

That's right Rebound. All it is, is a bunch of gang-banger wanna-be's thinkin they're looking tough with their ass hanging out. For whatever reason these dumb-asses want to look like gangsters as that's who they're looking up to. If it's allowed, it's condoning the actions/lifestyle of gang bangers, simple as that. Fortunately, we never see that crap (gangs and wanna-be's) here in Northern Wisconsin, ever!

No this would be the work of another party.

I do think this is ridiculous and the government should focus on real problems.
