Haigha,
I did that clean out the bits & pieces drill...I think it's clean, but my
IE6 is full of those glitches I listed. Opera is running well, though I
am a little bit of a wanderer on it until I get skilled and smooth.

Some of the glitches listed above, are successful through Opera;
I haven't run through all my Nits list, but thus far it looks good.

I still can't see my Sig pic here and the editing function after posting
doesn't let me fix the paragraphs/kerneling and "look" I am after with
Opera or with my old IE6; methinks it's an occasional X5 world site
glitch.

NEway, thanks for the pointers...I feel like a cave man that is wandering
around with a dictionary, a Glock and a found key, lol!

haigha is on a distinguished road
Installing IE7 might get rid of some of the gremlins since it will replace major parts of the web browsing components in Windows. IE7 has a new look that takes getting used to (especially for Favorites, History and menus).

BTW, did you know that Google is the major source of revenue for Mozilla (Firefox)? It's also a big souce of revenue for Opera.

as a browser, which while I'm still learing it, seems to have cured
most of my previous glitches.

I know, I know...Mac.
