If your religious faith moves you to kill someone...yes.

You're kind of all over the place here. Your first statement seemed pretty sweeping, now you're restircting it to militants.

As long as it's straight in your head, I guess.

What part confused you, think you might be reading too much into certain comments.

Being a proud muslim, it's really offending to see what some y'all write. U are missing the whole point. Al Queda represent less than .5% of the muslim but still, for cnn and you guys, it's enough to discredit my religion. It's so ashamed that such a powerful country is so ignorant of one of the biggest religion in he world.
Propaganda has really alter the face of Islam in America.
I usually stay away from these threads but you guys REALLY need to think about it twice b4 you post some of the comments. We live in a global world today, post in a now GLOBAL forum and some the comments made don't have their place on X5 World.
RANT over!!! I'm done.

Was it Al Queda that issued the fatwah against Salmon Rushdie?

All I ask is that the other 99.5% (your numbers) stand up and be more vocal than the 0.5%.

Then perhaps the "propaganda" won't be so loud.

Eric, with a "come on in!" attitude and no military to speak of, the Sweedish woman dressed like a goblin in this video (see link inside story) will be your mother, sisters and daughters. Is that what you want? Do you even get the clue that about 1,000,000 of those 8th century fanatics want to do just that to our society??? Please tell me you're sane.

Lets all bow down to them....such great group captured here....let's kill a person for a drawing....

If the person isn't Muslim, it is against no 'religious law' of theirs to draw a picture.

This highly vocal .5% is slicing the thoats and sawwing off the heads of men, women and children just because they believe in a different prophet or God. Please tell me why the other 99.5% is saying absolutely NOTHING!!! And I mean NOTHING! The silence is deafening. This fanatical set of 1,000,000 is making many fear the sudden rebellion and overthrow of our culture because you are saying NOTHING against this disgusting ultimatum.

Please help me understand how the 99.5% feels about the "convert or die as I bend your head back by your hair while your hands are tied behind your back and I saw off your head with a 15" knife" policy.

We've discussed this issue MANY times here, in this forum. Maybe you guys haven't been here long enough.
Personally, I believe the media have a very biais view in the US. People chose to read & believe what they want.
ASK yourself why Islam is viewed this way mainly in the US?

I don't even consider the remote possibility to try to be vocal against some crazy lunatics killing on the name of ANY religion, I do however think it should be common sense, especially on a multi-cultural board like this for members to think b4 they pass a judgement, make a derogatory comment.

Being born and raised muslim, I can promise you that 99.5% of the rest of the Muslim population feel the same way about those same lunatics, therefore would let everyone draw their own conclusion.
B4 posting my comments above, I had promise myself that I was not going to keep this discussion going cuz I know I will never change your views, so this will be my last contribution.
Peace.

I WANT you to change my views. I really do. I genuinely don't understand how your religion can be hijacked in such a horrible way and the 99.5% don't speak out.

I don't want to be afraid just cause I'm Christian. Do I need to be?

I think Tij's point is, it's not fair to value the whole by the actions of the few. That not all Muslim's are radical or terrorists.
And we should not convict the religion as a whole. For this I do totally agree and on behalf of those that believe as I believe, I want to openly apologize if it would seem that anything I have said has seemed like a blanket statement against Islam or it's followers. That couldn't be further from the truth. I respect all people, of all religions, races, genders, sexual orientations, etc.

The people I don't respect is not the people of the Nation of Islam. The only people I disrespect are the people who want nothing more than to destroy me and the state of Israel. As a Jew and an American, I only want to attack those who have attacked me first. Otherwise, I'm more than happy to live in harmony with EVERYBODY. Live and let live.

But I also think Tij, while your being upset might very well be justified, it would also serve you well (and your people) to be the voice of Islam and reason on this open forum.

Why not openly say that an artist should have the right to draw whatever he may like without the fear of murder. Why not speak out, WITH US, against radical and war like behavior.

You can't just sit on the fence and label everything you don't like, hate speech.

Yes, I do agree though, the thread title is in poor taste. But I think if you look at the subtext of what people are saying, you might realize, there is a justification for anger.
A justification that says, Muslims are not better than Christians or Jews or Buddhists or who ever.. And if our gods, our idols, our symbols are open to criticism, mockery, etc. than so are yours..

If you don't like it, do what the rest of the world does, don't buy it, boycott the advertisers, write an email.. But slicing the throat of the artist, that's just crazy!!

And I have no doubt, this guy will die for his drawings.. Remember what happened to Theo Van Gogh is Amsterdam?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theo_va...lm_director%29

Theo van Gogh (IPA: ['te?jo? v?n x?x]) (July 23, 1957–November 2, 2004) was a Dutch film director, television producer, publicist and actor. He was a descendant of Theo van Gogh, the brother of painter Vincent van Gogh. He was murdered by jihadist Mohammed Bouyeri in 2004.
