Lets all bow down to them....such great group captured here....let's kill a person for a drawing....

If the person isn't Muslim, it is against no 'religious law' of theirs to draw a picture.

If I was an artist, I would draw a cartoon showing Mohammed and Jesus getting it on together in the back seat of a X5.

And the Muslim world would issue a fatwah, and you'd have to live in hiding.

Cool religion.

Wow, I'm actually shocked Eric. Don't you realzie that a picture as you have just described could potentially start a conflict or potentially a war, especially if it were published..

Why would you want to provoke violence? I understand your point but you would still be "setting a spark"..

Nah...wars don't have anything to do with religion. Wars have to do with money. Unfortunately for those calling the shots, foot soldiers rarely will be willing to risk their lives so that someone can make an extra buck. So a more convincing reason must be given, something like religion, terrorism, WMDs, human rights, etc. But don't be fooled....those making the decision to go to war -- their decisions are made because of $$$.

If such a thing caused a "spark", it was already in motion and someone was just waiting for an excuse. Whatever the "spark" for war is, the decision to go to war is made long before. Look at our own history and the "spark" that took us to war each time (i.e. sinking of USS Maine, Lusitania, Pearl Harbor, Gulf of Tonkin, 9/11 attacks). In each case, it was nothing more than an excuse for the government to enter into a war they had already been itching to enter. In such cases, if the spark is not one thing, it will be something else.

OMG...awesome...wars have nothing to do with religion. While I agree every war has a tie in one way or another to monetary goals, almost every war also has religious undertones....whether they be added in or not, they are there. I'd rank it 1) money 2) religion 3) threat of survival

Yes, 99% of the time they are added to get the support of the sheeple.

I don't doubt that there were wars about religion centuries ago, like the crusades, but I'm talking about modern times.

As for your reason #3, that is not a reason that a country goes to war. That is a reason they defend themselves when being invaded.
