Actually it's not really the OS the majority of the time. It's the apps that don't get along with the OS. Most of it is a quick fix if you keep up with app upgrades and delete apps from small companys that don't have the finances to keep up with development changes. Also installation per system is a factor to consider as well. Other folks don't follow instructions and Wham...... trouble.

Having said that, I find the problems with the Mac OS very humorous!

+, people always complain when a new OS comes out, no matter what. When Tiger came out in '05, people were outraged for a few months, but then saw that Tiger was great. Just wait until the end of the year, people will say they don't know how they lived with Tiger

You guys are making me feel pretty good for staying with my PC and the jump to Vista.

My main reason for staying with the PC and Microsoft is my Blue-Ray/HD-DVD built into my machine.

Thanks!

Totally understood, it's just that the conventional wisdom (or at least what Apple wants it to be) is that all Apple OS's are (forgive me) "plug and play."

To hear that there's problems, with website descriptions/recommendations is more than a little amusing to me.

Most especially after all the Apple fans on this site tout it to everyone that asks what new computer they should get...

It's cool though. Just nice to see a little crow on the other plates at the table!

Apple acknowledged problems with the Leopard upgrade as per this cNet/News.com article:

http://www.news.com/8301-13579_3-9806005-37.html

Hopefully, it's not as bad as the XP to Vista upgrade. I've been holding back on upgrading to Vista after learning my Adobe CS2 suite which I purchased in 2004 for $600 is not compatible. Both my sons are running Vista on their desktops and neither are very happy with its performance at boot up or with games.
