So what's the plans for Thanksgiving????

Anyone have great plans for Turkey day? Going out of state or staying home and doing the cooking? What's in the menu?

I have to live through y'all because I have to work, on a 4 day weekend. And the 'rents live in FL. PBJ sandwich for me

Turkey, stuffed artichokes, stuffed mushrooms, cardoons (sp?) antipasta, I'm getting hungry.

Going to my Dad's parent's tonight...we celebrate Thanksgiving the day before and Christmas the day after. Then to my aunt and uncle's on mom's side tomorrow.

Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, greenbean casserole, cranberries, sauerkraut, corn pudding, homemade rolls, homemade pumpkin, apple, sweet potato pies, the list goes on and on and on...

Lunch is being catered
The girls have new ATVs being delivered today so probably spend most of the day outside with the cowboys on the lcd in the garage

Oh - that sounds soo good right now. All those food on the table, just thinking about those food are making me hungry. I don't think I could move after "sampling" all of them.

First year trying the Deep Fried turkey method. We are roasting a turkey as well just in case.

Make sure you measure the amount of liquid in the pot first. Put the "Big bird" in the pot first, dump some H2O until you reach the right amount of liquid, take the bird out and mark where the top of the liquid have reached. Now, you know how much liquid to put in the pot. Don't forget to dry the bird!

Best cooking advice I've seen on here... my uncle almost burned the garage down 1 year putting a big bird into a big cooker filled with oil and it overflowed.... ouch.

I was going to pour in the oil cold and place the turkey in the pot to get the right level but your idea seems better. No fires tomorrow but I will have an extinguisher approved for oil fires ready just in case.

We are having a few birds:
organic, farm raised ducks stuffed with baked apples mmmmmmm yumm
