Al Gore, what a phony...

Only after being outed for having one of the most piss poor energy use homes did Al Gore come back from soapbox stomping on how everyone should clean up their abuse of the environment.

http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/12/....ap/index.html

Now dumbo has energy conservation measures which the average person couldn't even afford. I'm sure he'll tell us how we all should though, if he is done blaming the US for all world impact.

Quote:
solar panels, a rainwater-collection system and geothermal heating

"The Gores decided to take a series of steps over time that might be logistically or financially out of reach for many Americans," she said. "But they were fortunate enough to have the ability to do so.
Not to mention he only lowered energy use by 11%, nice job...how far was he over the norm again? Sure it was higher then 11%. Then they try to justify how great it is by comparing it to the average homeowners energy costs in the area during the summer. Yeah, don't forget Al doesn't even live there, it holds offices for him and his wife.....

(CNSNews.com) - Former Vice President (and global warming aficionado) Al Gore deserves an award for hypocrisy, says the Tennessee Center for Policy Research.

The group, which studied Gore's electric and natural gas consumption, says his mansion in Belle Meade area of Nashville "consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year."

In his documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, Gore urges Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home, the group noted.

"The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) a year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh-more than 20 times the national average," the Tennessee Center for Policy Research said in a news release.

Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh -- consuming more than twice as much electricity in one month as the average American family uses in an entire year. Gore's average monthly electric bill topped $1,359, the research group said.

Likewise, the natural gas bills for Gore's mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 a month last year.

"As the spokesman of choice for the global warming movement, Al Gore has to be willing to walk the walk, not just talk the talk, when it comes to home energy use," said Tennessee Center for Policy Research President Drew Johnson.

In total, Gore paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for his Nashville estate in 2006, the Tennessee Center for Policy Research said.

Only an idiot would think that stopping global warming can happen from individuals doing voluntary things. That is the same logic as stoping the world's illegal drug problems by telling people to "just say no". The cutting of pollution has to be something that is legislated by the governments of the world in some sort of coordinated effort. Otherwise it is a waste of time.

And complaining about Gore's personal habbits, as if one person's individual habbits have any effect on global warming, is just dumb. It would be like complaining that Ralph Nader was driving without a seat belt, thus they must not be as good of a safety device as he said they were. Or saying that Adkins was fat, so his theories about carbs causing weight gain must not be true. It is an attempt to draw attention away from the issue.

The issue is about Al Gore the person and his integrity, not global warming.

His integrity should not be an issue. This is politics as usual -- avoid the issue and resort to personal attacks.

The man has no integrity...so that can't be debated. However, asking the local citizenry to some how fix the global warming issue is ridiculous.

Al Gore is an idiot so you can't blame him for being hypocritical. Why else would he be a Democrat?

Electricity usage at the home remains well above regional averages, but Gore's power consumption decreased by 6,890 kilowatt hours, or 11 percent, between June and August, despite the heat wave.

Gore's electric use increased again after he had to take his solar panels off-line in August so his new geothermal system could be integrated into the system. But his natural gas use has dropped 93 percent in the three months since the geothermal pump was activated.

When the Gores' heated pool is hooked up to the system later this month, their energy use is expected to decline more, his spokeswoman said. Gore has also said he invests in renewable energy such as solar and wind power to balance 100 percent of his electricity usage.

hey al gore...global warming

this is just rediculous.
