I was thinking of getting the CLS 550. I realize that the 335 is not a fair comparison to the CLS. But since these are really the only two cars that I like, I am comparing them. You said in your post that you would not compare a 335 to a CLS. Did you mean becuase of performance, price, comfort??

Thanks!
They look nice but the roads are such in NYC that would be bent in about a day.

Thanks, yes they are HRE's. No doubt the CLS is the most stunning and powerful vehicle I ever owned but where it lacks is the way the interior looks, especially the god awful steering wheel. I'd say the M5/6 is a perfect comparison to the CLS63 AMG or 550i vs. CLS550.

A lot of CLS owners had problems early on with the transmission but they were fixed with software updates and on a few rare occasions they were swapped out for a new one. Like the E70, you have to train the tranny. As for MB service, they are just as good as BMW now, well, perhaps BMW is a tad better, but MB is not far off.

IMO you should consider this when deciding between the two. 335 is smaller, less comfortable and cheaper. CLS more comfortable, larger, costs more. If you're buying a car purely on performance, I'd get the 335 as opposed to a used CLS550 but that is not saying the CLS is lacking in that area. If you get the CLS, you won't be sorry and probably forget the 335 even existed. In all essence there just isn't any comparison used or not.
