Not saying he IS a clone, I'm sure some of his policy has to be different or else truthfully why even run, just let Bush run again..change the rules.

My concern is more for the money that has been spent on the unnecessary war, and the money that will continue to be spent, based on McCain's war stance.

McCain AFTER Rumsfeld resigned.

"The war was terribly mismanaged and Rumsfeld will go down as one of the worst secretaries of defense in history,"

Now...Where McCain and Democrats differ is the "surrender" option. McCain does not want to surrender and admit defeat at a time when the eyes of the World are upon us. Especially our enemies in the rouge Arab Nations.

At the risk of dipping into politico charged arm wrestles, the different
responses above, are the result of Dubya having to say "something"
about the heretofore "genius" Sec of Def. he sent packing vs. McCain
as a Senator being able to spout off about anything he cares to...imo.

Sort of analogous to the CEO saying the VP of Strawberries has resigned
and we wish him well, vs. the VP of Mkting saying that his fellow VP of Strawberries

Ummm.. The rest of the World? The rest of the world is already looking at the US shaking their head. The rest of the world already dissaproves of this war.. as well as 68% of Americans. There's a difference in "surrender" and removing troops and helping build the country and preventing civil unrest, than just staying there and have more and more of our troops (sons, fathers, daughters and mothers) come home injured or worse.

It was an opening, thus the the word "Starters". Just because both Bush and McCain oppose surrender or quitting without meeting our objective which the Democrats prefer does not make them clones.

Sorry...Quiting before we meet our objective because the enemy we are fighting has made this war unpalatable to the American people is surrender. I don't care how you dress it up. Also, how do you expect to "prevent civil unrest" without troops?

If we do pull out because of the continuing violence we've just sent a message to our enemies that the US will back down from a fight if they follow the strategy of civil unrest, IED's and terrorism. Just think of all the opportunity's we had to back out of WWII when things got ugly.
