Painting My E-Z Pass?

I swore there was a thread that talked about this, but I couldn't find it, so here goes:

I just got my E-Z Pass in the mail. I want to paint the part that is against the window black so that it won't stick out like a sore thumb. Has anyone done this before? Does it screw up the signal in any way?
