Again and i don't understand why people don't understand that the prez is only one man when it comes to following thru with those promises.....

Because with a Dem Congress and Diane at the helm, he could pass those.

I don't think it will be as much of a walk in the park as some folks believe it will be.

To repeat MD's words.........

And, other than the "executive order approach", which the current genius prez may
have worn out, there is little that can be pushed through Congress, without an extra
500 pages of pork/deals in any bill and the lack of consensus there, except for filling
their pockets and making more ineffective "work" & rules, for the US citizens.
What a quagmire...

I would give it better odds then most. I'm still very curious to see how both parties play the "Iraq not letting US forces stay" cards.

Not a political person; But I understand the concerns people have. Aside from the bushman pitching a war few Presidents have followed thru with their promises. There are just enough opposing opinions , views and ideas from all camps to short circuit the perceived goals of one man. But we shall see.

OT, but not really...
Since I sense, (that's an unusual line), that QwkAg and I seem surprisingly
to be in the same zip code on general political terms, I think he & I should
team up and run for King & RightHandMan...

We could alternate the positions every 3 months or so...

I think a year or two of us'uns making proclamations, orders and decisions,
would help fix this country.

Neither one will have to. Al-Maliki just signed his death warrant today. He will be murdered in the very near future, replaced by someone more willing to give into US demands, and we will be told that he was killed by an Al-Queda suicide bomber, car bomb, or something similar. Or else he will "come to his senses", and agree to US demands.

Why is it so hard to understand BH Obama's economic approach? Comrade, it is easy.

I am anxiously awaiting someone to attest to why increasing taxes will jumpstart this economy and lead us to hope and change… Since`that is the backbone of the democrat ideology (redistribute wealth)...

Or is it simply easier to ‘bash’…?

If any of you can spend 1/80th the amount of time convincing me why increasing taxes is a good thing for this economy – rather than taking swipes at ‘this administration’ – then I will officially vote for the magic negro…

Obama's tax plan, in addition to screwing EVERYONE who sacrificed and risked to get to where they are at (north of $200k/yr), also included is ANYONE that sells their home, ANYONE who gets dividends from stocks, ANYONE who has a 401K, etc...

if your concern is the deficit, voting democrat is definitely not going to solve that one...

Just take one of their 2,178 proposed social programs - healthcare, E85, etc etc etc - each and every one of those - once you increase taxes on everyone - it is also going to take massive funding by the government - so, a double whammy... And we won't even touch on increased taxes - which will drive less dollars to the gov (people spend dramatically less since they have less deposable income)...

Also - I view it as my personal responsibility to isolate myself and my family as much as possible from these somewhat uncontrollable forces. I leverage each of my firms to the fullest - but at the end of the day, I still pay taxes - and therefore all I can do is cast one vote in order to decide which crook uses my monies the best at a state and federal level...

Maybe it all comes down to this - and something we can all agree on (and shatters one of the huge pillars in the Democrat ideology): I know that I am the best person to decide what I want to do with my money.

Period...

I love when people use the term "wealth redistribution". Capitalism at its best is wealth redistribution. It is a system that allows a few to amass most of the wealth while leaving everyone else poor. What socialism tries to do is put restrictions on how much wealth can be redistributed, i.e. how rich or how poor people can get.

That said, I am a socialist and I can tell you that Barak Obama is no socialist -- not even close. If zero on the political spectrum is socialism, and ten is capitalism, he is maybe a 7, while McCain is a 9. And in my lifetime, nobody lower than a 6 has ever been nominated to run for president for one of the major parties. If you were to look through the entire Senate, the only member who would fall below a 6 on my scale is Bernie Sanders from VT, who is probably around a 4 or 5.
