Another reason not to vote for Obama...

he will kill small business with his lack of economics knowledge.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080613/...ocial_security

He want's to raise payroll taxes on those making more the $250K, which is almost ALL small business owners.

That plan would make sense if you offered someone relief from a tax burden. For instance I always thought it was odd that when I was 15 working part-time after school I paid SS tax. Yet, now, when I make more then $106,000 I stop paying it. How about you reverse that process??

Just more get more money and spend it along with punish successful people. Of course, he has also proclaimed a huge hike in minimum wage. Well, econ 101 Barack...what will a small business do that is barely making it now when you tell them they must pay their employees more? Oh, go under. So now what will you do with the laid off person?? It is simplistic, short-term plans like that which kill an economy. Kind of like reducing taxes while starting a war.

More awesome economic plans.

His econ proposals are pretty damn scary. It'll be a tough decision this fall.

Overspending can not be fixed with more Taxes. How about the government doing what you and I do every day, live within it's means.

Its another case of the lose-lose

How hard is it though, really, to write an income down to 250K as a small business owner.

Wow, don't I feel really small. I don't even make anywhere close to that. In fact, my entire staff, including myself, falls short of that figure.

I know lots of small business owners, and not a single one tops that figure. What exactly do you consider a small business?

Not disagreeing...but, I find the candidates' bs and "things they would do/change"
to be equivalent to one promising to make everyone happy; it's all lip service, talking
points and bs, imo.

And, other than the "executive order approach", which the current genius prez may
have worn out, there is little that can be pushed through Congress, without an extra
500 pages of pork/deals in any bill and the lack of consensus there, except for filling
their pockets and making more ineffective "work" & rules, for the US citizens.
What a quagmire...

Pretty pathetic situation coming this fall.
McCain isn't a bright candidate either. On NBC’s “Today” show, McCain was asked, since the surge appears to be working, if he had a better estimate of when our troops might come home from Iraq. His answer: “No, but that’s not too important.” He went on to say casualties are more important, that there are Americans stationed all over the world but not in harm’s way.
The current candidates will make Bush look a hero.

Obama will increase taxes recklessly. McCain will keep us in a war that costs a crapload of money. What's a voter to do?

Obama forgets that the wealthier people usually have decent tax advisors.....my business incomes flows thru an S corp(non taxable entity).. being the only officer and employee i can adjust my W2 income to what i choose and have the rest released to me as dividends(not subject to payroll tax)

We are only talking an extra social security tax here so i'm presuming if obama makes you pay more then should not that money go back to that individual in terms of increased SS benefits... i doubt it ..
