Well ten years ago Toyota started working on the Prius while Ford and GM were content to "keep on trucking". Which companies are in trouble now?
I don't care whether McCain, Bush or Obama are pandering- that's what politicians do. But opening it up now is a good idea and the longer we wait the worse off we'll be. There's a reason the current congress consistently rates ten points worse than Bush and at their lowest point in history- they haven't done sh*t, much less expressed any foresight or resolve when it comes to doing what's best for our country. If I were a Democrat I'd jump on the Bush/McCain proposals and one up them- make them part of a comprehensive energy policy that helps in the short term and plans for the long. But I guess it's easier for Pelosi, Reid and friends to sit around blaming Bush for everything rather than come up with a solution. I've never been more ashamed to be a Democrat. |

Want to be ashamed to be a democrat, consider this...in 2007 "I will not take private funds, we need a generally funded election"....in 2008 "I will take private funds"...GO OBAMA.

I wouldn't vote for Obama if you paid me. I already voted for Jimmy Carter once- and Obama promises to be far worse.

The issue here is McCain knows that Obama has the ability to outspend him 2 to 1 in the general election. We've heard that complaint before. I wonder if any other presidential nominee ever had more in private contributions than the general funded election offered? BTW, love the revolving Big Oil logos. I think the question is the change of position from a year ago, once he learned how much he could make and do the "I'll just outspend you approach". I'll be curious to hear from the talking heads on the topic.
