bike guys! here's poll for you..
just got the go ahead from the wifey to buy a bike again... Don't really feel like throwing in a ton of money so it will be japanese. Any feedback or experience would be greatly appreciated as the last couple bikes I've had were Ducati's.
So here are 2 that I am looking at: 06 Yamaha YZF-R6S YZF-R6S or 05 Suzuki GSXR-600 GSXR-600 |

I'v ridden both. My friend has the Suzuki. They both are really similar, but the Yamaha pulled better down low. I liked the handling of the Yamaha better too. I dunno, you really have to try them both. I do think, with these too it'd come down to personal prefrence.
Btw, why aren't you considering Honda? CBR600RR |

completely comes down to price and availability and also preference for looks. The Honda is also just tad more expensive but the performance is still on par with the 2 cheaper bikes... less $$ for same performance = winner..

Funny that you mention bikes. I just bought one..
I know I should have shared with the gang, just hadn't got around to posting a thread. Got it Thursday night. It's a 2003, Harley Davidson Softail Deuce. It is a limited edition sled made by the custom vehicle operations team at HD. It's called a SCREAMIN EAGLE. It's also a 100th year anniversary bike. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ***EDITED *** **SORRY SANGURU, THOUGHT YOU LIVED IN ORANGE COUNTY FOR SOME REASON** ** GOOD LUCK ON YOUR PURCHASE ** Let me know when you get your scoot, your in OC, we can meet up for a ride. BTW, don't rule out a Harley. -- A bit more expensive but -- LOUD PIPES SAVE LIVES. Good luck on your search and let me know how it goes. B

I like the Yamaha R6. I have liked it ever since they introduced it. I've never ridden it nor have I ridden a motorcycle since a Kawasaki ZX-9R about 6 years ago but I really like the looks and design of the R6. FWIW, the rags all rave about it. To totally superficial and rating them on a cool factor, the R6S is way tricker looking.
I'm a little surprised the wife is giving you the

Depends what kind of riding you like to do! I have a gsx-r750, love the way they ride, but as far as quality goes i think yamaha wins that one! I rode a friends kawaski zx-6rr and that little f***ing thing has plenty of power down low and handled like a gem! Goodluck with the purchase and ride safe

Didnt check the specs but probably just a little weight savings, engine and suspension tuning due to the S in R6S like kawasaki with the zx-636r and the zx-6rr. A trackday version i'm sure.
Dont know about SANguru but i'm 6'2 and a good 210pounds if not more and it does get a little cramped behind the screen! I'm thinking harley or maybe a chopper as a next bike if i can afford it! |
