One suggestion; write a letter to him that he could read later on when he's older. Your feelings and what you want for him and stuff... I know it may be overwhelming to put your emotion into words, but it may well be worth it later on and I'm sure he'll appreciate it.

I admire your father/son relationship.

Do what you want brother. However, that said, when you're 60-70..it's going to look like crap

Check the youtube video on how tattoo changes shape with age....very funny.

If you have to, get a henna tattoo, so you don't have tattoo regret.

You don't need to tattoo it on your chest for people to know it. If you want people to know how much you love your son, show them by continuing to be a great father.

Weasel will become famous soon enough
My parents planted a tree in the middle of the back yard for me when I was born, and when I hit the teens Dad built a tree house in it for me... That was cool.

But I am in New Orleans, where mostly everybody has tats and it is considered highly normal here... I am almost looked down on, and messed with constantly for not having one yet. Even my 53 year old mother has 13 of them and quite a few of my friends are fully sleeved. But it is body art, and not for all people. If you wanted a tattoo for the tattoo, I would say get it... but just for what it would symbolize, there are better ways.

Yes, I wrote a letter to my son already. I wrote it when he was younger, to be opened when he is 18. I talk about the day he was born, and the drama associated with it. I talk about my pride in him. I can only imagine how cool it would have been to have gotten something like that from my dad. I hope he appreciates it. Another part of me wants him to view it as "no big deal", because I have been so open with my affection for him that it will not be a shock to read it. That is, too, OK.

Wow...Love that suggestion. I'll do that and place the letter in the safe with all my other critical documents.

Thanks for the suggestion.
