Oh (Zaino) Brother!

My back is killing me.
My right arm feels like it's made of rubber.
My neighbors think I am nutty (well, nuttier than they had thought).

The results, though, are amazing. Spent eight hours today Zaino'ing the X:

- Washed it with Dawn
- Clayed it with Z18
- Washed with Z7
- One coat of Z Fusion
- Went over it with Z6 Gloss Enhancer
- First Coat of Z2
- Went over it with Z6 Gloss Enhancer
- Second Coat of Z2
- Went over it with Z6 Gloss Enhancer

PHEW!!! I am beat!! Here are the results:

Looks Super! I hear you on the back and arms, I have been there too with Zaino. I tried the Meguiars NXT and it does not do a bad job compared to back-breaking arm-aching Zaino.

Thanks for the compliment. I have used Meguiars before, and you're right, it's not bad stuff. I'll have to check out t hat NXT stuff.

I must be missing something here?? are you guys using ZFX? with the Z2 and Z5 I can detail my M5 in less than 3 hrs with multiple coats of Z2 and Z5 and that includes claying the car (no pressure on the paint either) and also washing. the wait time is 30 mins.. in other words, by the time you finish the whole car.. it's time to use some Z6 on the microfiber towel to wipe off the front.. so backache and arm-ache shouldn't really be... you should not be apply a lot of pressure either??? I must be confused..

Well, remember that this was my first time. I started from scratch (no pun intended). So, I washed it Dawn; clayed it (this alone took me one hour); washed it again with Z7; THEN I did the Z Fusion (new product that removes swirl marks and small scratches), which is applied with an orbital buffer AND buffed out (this is yet another hour's work). I've already spent three hours, and I have yet to apply the first coat of Z2 (with ZFX, of course). NOW, I give it the first coat of Z2 (with ZFX), Z6 gloss enhancer, SECOND Z2 coat and finish it off with Z6 again. Also, I did the inside with liquid leather AND cleaned the wheels! So, yeah... it took me 8 hours! Phew, I'm tired just talking about it! LOL

Juan,

She looks GREAT !!! I also think that's the first picture I have seen of your X. NICE RIDE !!

I love those wheels btw. One of my favorite sets for X, the second being the wheels that are on the 4.6is, followed by my third favorite wheel, the ones on the 4.8is.

Hey, just exactly how long does this stuff last? When should I give it another "buffing"?

Looks Titz, Juan!

It varies, but hitting it with a very Thin coat of Z6, (wipe gently but thoroughly and get it all off), on a clean, dry car keeps the shine and protection going for a long time, imo.
