Where do you get this stuff and how much...

[QUOTE=Kaefer]My back is killing me.
My right arm feels like it's made of rubber.
My neighbors think I am nutty (well, nuttier than they had thought).

The results, though, are amazing. Spent eight hours today Zaino'ing the X:

- Washed it with Dawn
- Clayed it with Z18
- Washed with Z7
- One coat of Z Fusion
- Went over it with Z6 Gloss Enhancer
- First Coat of Z2
- Went over it with Z6 Gloss Enhancer
- Second Coat of Z2
- Went over it with Z6 Gloss Enhancer

PHEW!!! I am beat!! Here are the results:

I usually use what ever is at PEP boys but since I want to step up my game please show me the way.

Two years ago, a client of mine lost his wife to cancer and he wanted me to buy his wife's black 91 Jag XJS convertible roadster for $6900. The car had 31000 miles (now 32000 miles :p) It was pretty much new except that the paint was really dull and hardly any shine. I figured I'd get it repainted (was quoted $5000) untill I heard about the Zaino kit. Spent the whole weekend with the works - dawn wash, clay, and did 3 sets of the ZFX, Z2, Z5, & Z6. Well, I transformed the "old" roadster into a showcar finish and with it's cream leather interior, it's a stunning black beauty and really attracts attention http://mirandajones.net

By the way, just got the update that I'm finally picking up my Black 05 X5 3.0i this coming Tuesday!!!!!!!! So the schedule looks like this - Tuesday & Wednesday (Driving all over the place) and Wednesday is Zaino day!

I must be missing something here?? are you guys using ZFX? with the Z2 and Z5 I can detail my M5 in less than 3 hrs with multiple coats of Z2 and Z5 and that includes claying the car (no pressure on the paint either) and also washing. the wait time is 30 mins.. in other words, by the time you finish the whole car.. it's time to use some Z6 on the microfiber towel to wipe off the front.. so backache and arm-ache shouldn't really be... you should not be apply a lot of pressure either??? I must be confused..

Well, remember that this was my first time. I started from scratch (no pun intended). So, I washed it Dawn; clayed it (this alone took me one hour); washed it again with Z7; THEN I did the Z Fusion (new product that removes swirl marks and small scratches), which is applied with an orbital buffer AND buffed out (this is yet another hour's work). I've already spent three hours, and I have yet to apply the first coat of Z2 (with ZFX, of course). NOW, I give it the first coat of Z2 (with ZFX), Z6 gloss enhancer, SECOND Z2 coat and finish it off with Z6 again. Also, I did the inside with liquid leather AND cleaned the wheels! So, yeah... it took me 8 hours! Phew, I'm tired just talking about it! LOL

Juan,

She looks GREAT !!! I also think that's the first picture I have seen of your X. NICE RIDE !!

I love those wheels btw. One of my favorite sets for X, the second being the wheels that are on the 4.6is, followed by my third favorite wheel, the ones on the 4.8is.

Ride looks GREAT! I've had 2 black cars in the past and was always a pain to keep shiny, now i have a silver X5, easier to maintain cleanliness from the outside So i have a question when you say you dawned the car do you mean dawn the dish soap? If so is that really better than the soap from N E ol car shop?

Its not that its BETTER, its just a LOT more pure...Its the absolute best soap there is to give yourself a "clean slate" to work with...I dont even bother with the clay process when using it..But you shouldnt use it more than once a year though...thats how easily it strips any build-up on your car....
