There you go again... I am not a devout or die hard PC fan. I just don't see any reason to switch. The PC offers me the expandability and capabilities that I require -- I have high expectations from both my hardware and the software.
Nothing to say on the "brain" comment apart from the fact that I'm frequently called that. I know, it's "usually" just a typo...

I didn't say you were devout or die hard PC fan.. I said, I WAS...
I had my desktop on XP, my Avid editing system on NT, my laptop on 2000, etc. I hated MAC's. I thought to myself, why would anyone buy a MAC when they could buy a PC for 40% less and get more functionality... - Then I lost my IT department. - I also learned, trying to do heavy computing on a PC, graphics, photo's, video's, multimedia, etc. that I spent more of my time working on the computer than working on the project. Mac's are simply more productive because you spend less time configuring, uploading, replacing drivers, etc. Mac's are TURNKEY. Get in it and drive, relatively problem and update free. I didn't understand how much better my time was spent actually working on my projects rather than working on keeping the computer running well until I got a MAC. I used to spend at least 20% of my time dealing with computer issues. Now if I spend 2% of my time, that's a lot. It's a productivity enhancer. And they really are much better, nicer machines to work on that enhance productivity.

Not sure why the Mac/PC thing always becomes this drawn out. I've had multiple issues with Macs and PC's. Neither one has ever been solid. And as for security holes, you can patch those if you know what you're doing..for the most part. And sorry but out of the box, Joe "I know nothing" User...will be easier served by a PC.
WOW..did I say that as I type on my 24" iMac...

The whole MAC vs PC thing comes up in ANY thread having anything to do with computers. That being said, after many years of dealing with PC and all of its quirks... I switched to MAC and haven't been happier! I also have 2 partitions of windows on the mac, both XP. One is parallels and pulls up as an application on the mac desktop for when I just need something quick, the other is bootcamp and acts just like a regular PC based computer with full hardware accelloration and full use of ram.

In basic terms, I have the best of both worlds. I have the stability and performance of the MAC, with the option of windows at the click of a button... So, never a problem!
