Don't know if it's the intense media spotlight, the general psychological stress of living in NYC, or what, but everyone's production drops like a rock when they come to the Rangers.
Stan, Stan, Stan.... *shakes head in disgust.... the facts my friend, the facts are below:

Naslund scored 24 goals this season and was 4th on the team in scoring. Ruined in NY? Hardly.

The Rangers ruined Lindros? or did him having a Jello head end his career? After 7 concussions, I'ld say the man had a problem keeping his head up. He had 37 goals in '01 for the Rangers.

Fleury? He was an alcoholic and coke addict when he left Calgary.

Jagr? Ruined in NY? Yeah, I guess that 123 points in '05 really sucked huh? You're probably thinking of his time in Washington, you know, before he was a Ranger, when his highest point total was 79.

Btw- Marty, despite being the winningest GK in the NHL now, still wishes he played for the Rangers. You know it, he knows it, and it eats him alive.

Here endeth the lesson.

Where to begin!

Stan, Stan, Stan.... *shakes head in disgust.... the facts my friend, the facts are below:

Naslund scored 24 goals this season and was 4th on the team in scoring. Ruined in NY? Hardly.

Sorry bro, but Naslund was Mr. Primetime in Vancouver, for many, many seasons as any Canucks fan will attest. A LOT more was expected of him when he came to the Rangers than to finish the season with 46 points. Fourth on the Rangers? Whooopeee!

The Rangers ruined Lindros? or did him having a Jello head end his career? After 7 concussions, I'ld say the man had a problem keeping his head up. He had 37 goals in '01 for the Rangers.

Fleury? He was an alcoholic and coke addict when he left Calgary.

And what better place for an alcoholic and coke addict to go than NYC? Where ALL the coke addicts fit right in!

Jagr? Ruined in NY? Yeah, I guess that 123 points in '05 really sucked huh? You're probably thinking of his time in Washington, you know, before he was a Ranger, when his highest point total was 79.

I'm not saying he sucked, but this was arguably the top forward in the World after Lemieux retired. He was supposed to take the Rangers deep into the playoffs, which is clearly NOT what happened. Is that supposed to be a knock on Jagr? NO. Is it a knock on the Rangers organization, and the fact that Cablevision and the Dolans have had their heads up their A$$es with both the Knicks and the Rangers for as long as anyone can remember?? Throwing money at a problem does not make it go away.

Btw- Marty, despite being the winningest GK in the NHL now, still wishes he played for the Rangers. You know it, he knows it, and it eats him alive.

I think it eats YOU alive knowing that he delivered the Devs to 3 Stanley Cups in less than a decade.

19-94! 19-94!

Here endeth the lesson.

The lesson of how to NOT run a hockey team.

Mr. Stan, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this forum is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

When you want to talk hockey without all of the b.s., let me know.

Rangers buying names like the Yankees do... no big thing. New Yorkers demand it... and I'm glad I'm not a fan of either of those teams... because New Yorkers complain about it too.

On the contrary...I've given concrete examples of 'franchise-level' players under-achieving, and performing well below their potential after coming to the New York Rangers. An 'Original Six' organization whose big claim to fame is 1 Stanley Cup in 69 years. Those, my friend, are facts. You may not like them, you may want to hide them, but they are there for all to see.

If I was a Ranger fan (which thankfully I am not), I would be crying 'bloody murder' and demanding that the Dolans sell the Rangers (and the equally sad Knicks) to someone who actually cares about winning.

Actually you gave emotional taunting ridiculous examples that i proved incorrect by providing you with their stats while on the Rangers.

I'm done here, this is boring.

I hadn't heard, but we don't hear much about NY out here in the boonies.

I think Naslund peaked several years before he went to New York. He was a great player a few years back, but his last two seasons in Vancouver were a little sad to watch. He was never the same after Bertuzzi left, and looked glad to get out. Hope he enjoys his retirement.

The Caps are an exciting team to watch and give credit to the Penguins who can fire back. Game 7 will be a barn burner.

My Canucks got everything the deserved. It sucks but they played like dog crap last night. I knew from the get-go that they were in trouble. They were losing every puck battle, missing passes, failing with specials teams, and couldn't slow down the speedy 'Hawks.

So it's another year of getting eliminated in the second round. I should be used to this by now but it's still very disappointing.
