Personally I like what you have done to the Smart. But it is really all about what you like. Thanks for sharing with us your mods to the Smart!

Poleposition:

Many on here are fixated on SUVs and vehicles that size, so it is somewhat predictable that some would diss the Smart. Personally, I think it is a very logical vehicle for 2 km to a train station. I get everything except the spikes on the bumper.

I see posts on this board about blacking out head and tail lights, and tinting windows forward of the B pillar, so I have some trouble taking negative safety comments about a Smart seriously.

I completely understand your comments on the 328. I drove a Morgan when I lived in the UK. No way was it a safe vehicle, compared with my Passat or Focus. However, I didn't lose sleep over it, I enjoyed it for what it was.

True motorheads are not fixated on a brand or model, they simply like cars of all shapes and sizes.

There are over 45,000 member on this site.
I wouldn't let what a few have to say dissuade
you from hanging out.

The various opinions you see are nothing more
than spirited "OPINIONS" and if your put off
by it then you may be missing all the fun.

If I posted pics of that in a thread and said, hey check out my weekend car, would everybody flame me for driving it because it's not as safe as our X5's? Would I see comments like, geez hope you dont get hit by a truck in THAT thing? I appreciate everyone's concern about my safety and my insurance policies and my will being in order but rest assured, I certainly wont be contributing to this lounge anymore. The small mindedness of some members is something i choose not to be associated with. There are other boards I am proud to be a member of. They welcome well rounded members who not only share their passion for the vehicle the board is based on but they appreciate the thoughts and ideas and interpretations that go into other vehicles in ones lineup. Right about now, this isnt one of those boards.

To those who get it To the rest, Im sorry for you.

This is an internet forum, I feel sorry for YOU if you expect to have everyone always agree with everything you do. It's a bit myopic don't you think?

I think the Mods look good and are tasteful just don't like Smart Cars.

I understand your limit use of the Smart Car and if you are happy with it great, that's all that matters.

There might be 45K registered, but how many are vocal or participants

relax. I'm not questioning you buying a smart car, if i was still on LI and was driving to the LIRR every day, I'ld probably get one myself. So I disagree about modding it, so what... why do you care?

Maybe this will explain it... I don't "get" why people do this either....

Custom Two Wheeler Chopper Bicycle - Hell's Belle -- Lowrider Bicycle

It doesn't mean that I can't appreciate it, it's just not something I would do.

All better now?
