To share a personal experience: I had the pleasure of working with Saida Garrett on an EPK last year. Saida wrote "man in the mirror" for MJ and is a personal friend of the man. Over lunch we discussed a number of things, including MJ. One of the things she clarified, was that MJ never said he slept with kids in his bed but that he gave his bed to them and he slept on the floor. This resonated with me, as in my culture (Ghanaian), it's customary to offer your bed to guests in your home. Matter of fact, when i was a bachelor, living in NYC, i would often give up my bedroom to guests and would sleep in my office/studio.

And lastly, when i first started out as an intern in the industry, i used to "sleep-over" one of my mentors homes often. His house was the size of a super-Target and one could get lost. Kids in the neighborhood used to come over and play, as he had a movie theater, swimming pool and bowling alley to run-amok. we'd be up so late sometimes that their parents would allow them to stay over. MJ's mistake was being naive to even mention that...as such a statement will be perceived differently, per culture.

Again, i believe the debate on allegations are beyond moot. We're all going to look at them just as differently as we view the man and the artist.
