Quick...chilli, if he told you himself that he molested these children, would you still feel the same way about him? Would you still dance and snap your fingers Quick? It sounds like it.

At the end of the day, if he did molest kids, that should far overshadow anything he did in his professionsl career, IMO. The fact that multiple people have accused him of this and that he paid millions to one family doesn't look good. If someone accused me of something that evil and I was innocent, I would fight it with everything I had and never settle.

I don't know why i'm even responding to this...there are far too many similar cases in which talent will settle out of court. This isn't necessarily an admission of guilt but an attempt to keep ones reputation or brand from damage. MJ was moneybags, that in itself is motive for false claims. I believe MJ realized the mistake he made with the first allegation so he rejected a settlement and the rest is subjective pending your bias.

As i mentioned, i choose to remember him in a different light...a light in which you may not understand and is far too complex to even attempt to explain within this forum...i have to remind myself that there are industry forums for such complexities.

Yeah, we are too simple-minded to understand "such complexities".

Tell me your personal knowledge of the process of building a song from scratch to mastering, or scoring for an orchestra (including vocal harmonies) and then perhaps there may be a foundation to engage in a discussion of these complexities....

My comment was not to demean anyone...This doesn't seem to be the forum to engage in production-debate...and ultimately, it's relation to MJ. I've made an effort and i believe Quicksilver has also...only to be met with sarcasm and ridicule.

Quicksilver will become famous soon enoughQuicksilver will become famous soon enough
I believe his reference is regarding musicians.
Strange breed for sure. Add to that what appears
the genius factor and I gotta tell ya it's a voyage
beyond anything compared to normal.

I could list the unbelievable complexities found
in this industry not found in normal life but I guess
I would have to sit down and make an incredibly
long list of almost insane descriptive personalities
who honestly are out there on their own planet.

Roll call in this case is honestly a waste of time
because there is not enough room to write about
them. But just one case comes to mind. Donny Hathaway.
Look it up. Find out why he committed suicide. It sheds
a lot of light on what happens to some of our brightest stars.

I was going to point out this same point, but Will beat me to it.

Fist rule of law school: never buy a Ford.
Second rule of law school: only sue those with deep pockets.

MJ had VERY deep pockets.

Which means in our super-litigious country, it was not necessarily MJ that had that kid by his balls....it's actually the trial lawyers that have all of us by our balls...because as soon as you come into any kind of affluence or financial success...you become a lawsuit magnet.

Which means an out-of-court settlement is never an admission of guilt. It is just a quck way of making a problem go away for those that do not have the mental energy or strength to go through multiple depositions, taking the stand, etc. Kudos to those of MJ's calibre wealth who have the time and energy to take on every civil lawsuit that comes out of the woodwork...I know I would certainly stand up to any dirtbag who tried to extort untold millions out of me and fight with all the energy I have to clear my name.....A lot of civil lawsuits are just that: a legalized form of extortion that will continue to destroy this country until we get serious about tort reform...MJ decided to be done with it in the quickest way possible and he settled.

I am not saying he did not molest that kid...and I am not saying he did...only that settling out-of-court is not the "admission of guilt" everyone assumes it is. It is a "quick way out" option to save time and not have your character further slandered in long, drawn-out trial.

He was schizophrenic. Who could ever know "why" a schiz person does anything. We have much better medication now, but back then the schiz person could have been told to do it by unseen voices. Am I missing something? I mean, it may be too complex for me to understand.

I agree that there are many cases where people (especially wealthy celebs) settle out of court, but the thing is MJ was a 40+ year old man who regularly let kids sleep over in his bed and openly admitted that he didn't see anything wrong with it. You may call me biased, but when you are a 40 year old man and you let kids spend the night in your bed I personally don't think it is a stretch or a leap of any kind to assume that some other weird stuff was going on. Especially with multiple allegations of it. Also, I think it is strange that he settled in these circumstances. If he loved kids so much and was innocent I would think he would fight this particular type of allegation at any cost, but that is just me though. You may feel differently. Take his celebrity and your personal love for his music out of the equation and any other 40+ year old man doing the things he was doing and being accused of would be considered a major creep.

I don't think his musical talent should give him any sort of pass. I know he was talented. I loved some MJ when I was little. My first album was Thriller. Even had the red jacket with the zippers and buttons when I was like 5 years old. I am just not sure how much his talent matters if he did this. Would his contributions be worth it if even one child was improperly treated? I don't think so personally.

At the end of the day I feel bad for him too, because he had anything but a normal childhood and it affected him for the rest of his life. Let's hope that the allegations are not true so other kids don't grow up with lingering issues as well. All I am saying is that it is not far fetched or complete imagination to think that some dirt happened.

To each his own though. For example, I guess some people remember OJ as a great football player or actor and some remember him as a killer. Same with Elvis as a great singer or a drug addict/child lover.

In his early life, Michael Jackson was a young boy with an old soul. Towards the end of his life he was a old-worn down man with a boyish soul.

I am with Chill on this one. No, I wouldn't leave my kids with MJ nor anyone of you on this board. MJ was a victim of opportunistic parents who, for personal gain, put their children in harms way.

If MJ was was molesting children, lets ask two well know kid companions of MJ, Emanuel Lewis and Macauley Culkin. Oh wait, they already have.

Because of his fame, MJ became a mark, a chump, a sucka for people looking to get rich off of him. MJ died $400 mil in debt partially because of his excessive spending... and partially because he was constantly defending bogus lawsuits.
