Prince is also on a regular rotation in my ride. No doubt that he is eccentric. IMO, Prince hasn't had a GREAT album since he parted ways with the Revolution... that does not make him any less relevant. |

Another forgotten gem...BEN won a Golden Globe for Best Song and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
Funny thing, to me, is BEN is about a Killer rat, LOL! But what i really love about this song is the incredible instrumentation...I'm a sucker for such arrangements. |

Michael Jackson did a number of things we can all admit
were down right strange. I don't believe anyone's arguing or contesting, or even defending his unusual behaviour. I would even venture a bet though that if you were allowed to look below the surface of his life you would find other dirt that would make you personally gasp. So I guess the question is when is enough enough? Could it be that it's the tabloid mentality that keeps the juices flowing? I would say yes. After all who wants to hear and discuss good news "right"? I would also venture a guess that if any of us became the subject of those allegations and our lives were dug into and covered in the tabloids the way his life has been there would be some very interesting stories we would be telling, and no doubt some of us would end up with nicknames like Wacko Jacko or whatever. I just seems to me (and maybe I'm wrong) that we spend a lot of time dwelling on the negative. particularly unproven allegations that we have decided on our own is true. I don't know if the most serious allegations are true or not. At the same time I don't believe any rational person is going to stick his head in the sand regarding the possibilities thus "giving him a pass" so to speak. Having said that, it's my choice (until the allegations are proven) to try to remember the artist for his musical contributions. And to be honest I would do the same for anyone in the same position weather he had a hit record or that person happened to be good ole Joe.... That doesn't mean that other opinions don't have merit it just means that from where I sit I have no desire to get on the tabloid train. Hence i often play the "Devils advocate" posing the other side of the argument trying to see if all the avenues have been explored even the unpopular. Yes I may try to stir the pot but at the end of the day I would hope to level the playing field. In that regard I leave you with James Baldwins quote. "People pay for what they do, and still more for what they have allowed themselves to become. And they pay for it very simply; by the lives they lead" No where do we find that truth more evident then in the case of Michael Jackson and his family. -------------------------------------------------------------------- With just a bit more than 2 cents contributed let me now continue with my personal Michael Jackson concert....

I suspect none of us on here know for sure whether he done anything indecent with children but because of his persona, created by Michael himself and the media a lot of people choose to believe that he did.
I certainly do not know where the fact stops and the fiction starts re the Michael Jackson "life" story. I don't think much of his father that's for sure. I don't think Michael was that fond of him either, some say that's where all Michaels "problems" stem from, that and his fame from a very young age. There is no doubt he was talented maybe his music was not to everyones taste but he did have talent and he could dance. I think his gigs in London would have been awesome. Still x amount of days after his death the pantomime that surrounds him the is still very prevelant (secrets, facts, fiction) and this time round the guy is dead so he can't be blamed. Maybe Gladys Knight is correct that we are all to blame for his life and his death.

That they are. My favorite Prince performance is a little unknown guitar solo of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." Worthy of a Youtube search.

So what exactly constitutes his irrelevance? |

Knight Rider was the Hoff's best work, IMO. He wasn't the same after he and Kitt broke up.
