Apparently you didn't read the articles the links provided.
Mr. Jackson was very popular before his death and
everyone knows that.

Google features at least a dozen of these kinds
of articles from all over the world. Nuff said

Michael Jackson, Dead At 50, Was Hugely Popular Across Former Soviet Bloc - Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty © 2009

Jackson was arguably the only American artist whose influence was as great elsewhere in the world as it was back home in the United States. And as news spread of his death by suspected cardiac arrest, people across the globe expressed a mixture of grief, confusion, and regret.

I just don't like Al; it was a celebration of MJ and most people enjoy his music no need to about black people as a separate group. I don't know much about Poppa Joe.

Like Gladys Knight and the Peeps... No, thats would be Pips.

Speaking of the Pips, an intersting bit of trivia: Farrah Fawcet was the inspiration for the song "Midnight Train to Georgia."

It's a very big difference between what was popular, his music or him, as 99% of the fans knew only the music.

there is some truth to that.
BTW not a fan of the man but sure
enough a fan of the process which
spawned the results.
