Would he also have done all he has to redeem himself if he wasn't put in jail first? One could argue he has come a long way (if he really has sincerely changed his ways) but his sins against the innocent and helpless are and always will be repugnant at a minimum.

Sure it is. Seems like you are trying to defend him.

You can hide the crime behind the legal meaning if you want.

WOW! I am amazed at your ignorance of the law. I am not defending Vick. Simply put, killing a dog is not murder.

You are right.

I never said I was a lawyer nor was I thinking of this as a legal definition.

In my mind and MANY other people, view the killing of an innocent animal in this way as murder.

No, not human murder but murder in a more general sense.

It is not hunting for food or sport as at least how our country defines sport. The dogs were killed in an illegal sport in brutal, horrible ways where they were tortured in many cases first.

Do we really need to debate the fine line from a legal definition?

Nevertheless, calling him a murderer is not going to really matter unless you care about how that might make Vick feel. Poor Mike Vick, he is a hero now and everyone should leave him alone, he paid his price and now should be allowed to be put up on a pedestal and given more special privileges.

Yes, I bumped into him at a local Petsmart in Atlanta. While he was reaching down to grab some dogfood a water bottle fell out of his pocket. When it hit the floor a false bottom broke off of it and spilled herpies onto some unsuspecting girl walking by.
