I saw a review by Tiff from Fifth Gear where he said that acceleration was virtually instant. If you describe it as virtually instant, I would assume that is not the same as actually being instant.

Was there any doubt that the benchmark would still be the benchmark. The next generation M3 will distance itself once again and both Caddy and Audi will be playing catch up as usual........Phil

No doubt...lol. Next gen M3(below) is growing in size. I look forward to ///M2.

Pretty sad when Audi is playing catchup with a 2013 model vs. a last model year run M3.
