CPO
1)$4,000 for CPO is that negotiable? 2) Dealer will waive last two remain lease payments ($750 each) 3) 36 month financing at 0.9% 4) Lease residual is $35,200 about full retail,deal says that is not negotiable? The car is a 2008 535XIT with 36,000 miles. What do you think?

$4000 is bs. Its more like $2000 to $2500, so it sounds like they are fudging your last two payments into that.

Everything is negotiable. Search for comparable vehicles out there and show them what your options are. They will match it or come close if they want your business. Obviously, the biggest difference when you compare is that you know this vehicle. Don't let that be a hindrance to you getting the best deal for your money.

- doesn't matter what was in orig. docs. - I have negotiated down in the past. All depends on how close you are to TMV and how easy they think that they can shift the car from their lot.
+ side - you know the car and how it was treated. $4K is ridiculous for CPO - quick walk around the car, kick the tires, and a wash in many places. If you really want a warranty and they don't budge in price you could skip and put the $ towards a reputable aftermarket like Warranty Direct. |

Not entirely true.
BMWFS will not negotiate with an OWNER, but they give MUCH lower prices to the dealer. The dealers put tremendous pressure on BMW to prevent FS from talking to owners..by forcing owners to go to a dealer the dealer can capture this profit. Well I purchased the car, here are the details:
1) Cpo cost is really $2,000+/- 2) Dealer can negotiate the residual price. 3) Got the car for the residual price but with cpo included at no additional cost. 4) With cpo got 0.9% financing for 4 years. One additional question the dealer wants to sell extended maintenance for another $2,200, is that reasonable and a good idea?

I love it. They come out with $4000 for the CPO, which everyone knew was BS, and then come down to including it. The scary thing is that some people must get sucked in and pay the $4000.

The twin turbo 6 has had fuel pump and other issues I hope this is the end of those problems and I would not be surprised to see more. Other than that the car has had very little problems. I have to that I really like the car it offers more than enough power and gets good mpg (I have averaged 25 to 27mpg). It is sad that BMW no longer imports wagons. The GT is joke which they should drop and bring back the wagon. I think that BMW would rather sell X3's in the USA.
