As said earlier, you have to do your home work before you buy, B&M or online. Dyson has a website which shows all features.
Amazon charges sales tax when you buy from a vendor in your state.

I had a surprisingly positive experience at BB Sunday. I walked in to find a new battery for the house landline cordless phone. Snagged a saleswoman, who not only took me right to the proper rack, but tried to find the right battery for me. When it was clear they didn't have it, she told me where the closest Radio Shack was. That is the kind of customer service you certainly don't usually get anywhere today, much less BB!

Best buy isn't the greatest, but it is basically the best national brick and mortar electronics store left. I think that most people who visit this site are above average intelligence and do their due diligence before making any purchase. If not, you're probably of the ilk that doesn't have to worry about overpaying. Personally, I do research online then go to a b&m store to get a hands on experience before purchasing. If BB is close in price, i'll buy from there...

Yes I should of looked closer at the Dyson site. I purchased a Dyson Canister for my vacation home and just thought that the DC23 was the current model. It seems crazy that they dropped the power beater bar. The LG is a copy of Dyson but with improvements. I still don't understand what Dyson is thinking, I was a loyal customer and didn't even think of looking at other brands.

I live in NY State and Amazon charges sales tax of everything.

Amazon prices have increased such that it is no longer cheaper. I purchase a lot of things from Amazon because it is convenient. Still surprised that they charged shipping on a return. I am a prime member and find that many items on the site are cheaper without prime shipping but when you add back the shipping cost it becomes a wash. It seems that prime is a bit of a ripoff since they charge more for items purchased by prime.

There is something good about a commissioned sales rep. I worked for Circuit City for a while back in 2000 after getting laid off from a software company in Dallas. We were paid commission, which people in the public frowned upon. The good thing about a commissioned sales rep is that, generally, they are well versed on the products they sell. Unfortunately for Circuit City, they changed their pay structure to hourly. The seasoned sales reps left (including myself), and high school kids took their place, and the rest is history.
