I've been riding sleds since I was 14ish: learned in the dirt/woods, on my Great Uncle's farm in GR, Mich., circa 61-63. The bikes were crap then and we had zip instruction, but that initial riding exp in "dirt" was TheBest, looking back.

I have had a long list of scoots; I won't bore ya'll with the list.
Current stable, (hasn't really changed in several years), is listed below in my Sig.

I Love M'cycles! Any/all kinds; old, new, etc.

My riding skills have slipped a bit, over time and with this late 50s onset, and frankly from reduced riding time combined with an "older, less aggressive view" on life,

I am amazed at the tech and engineering in the new sleds and the street riders' abilties and ballz, these days.

Butting in, pun intended, on the helmet thread going on here, if you do ride, take 15 mins and read this remarkable test/article that Motorcyclist Mag did recently. They produced it, not giving a damn about what helmet advertiser they might piss off. It is an amazing read, imo.

The helmet myths are legion...but, though I have enjoyed many hours of "no lid" in those states that allow it, Any quality lid will help your noggin, imo.

Knock on Wood: I have never been down in the Street, (not counting parking tip overs during TT riding in my ute; TT= Tavern to Tavern ), but I spent a lot of time banging around in the dirt/woods in my teens and twenties, "going down" there.

That's my Motorcycle views & news...hit the link and give that helmet white paper a good read.

And, keep it under a buck and a half and between the fences!

ConnMan, some very interesting older sleds you have! I like them all!

And, "Working on a BMW motorcycle with the ways and means committie..." (sic)

I had an HJC... But of course, I replaced my lid after it was used. Since then, I've been using an Arai. It has a great fit on my head, and it breathes wonderfully.

Nice bike DREX

I used to ride a lot when I was in France. I had a 500 honda CX and then kawazaki 1000 GTR. Riding a bike in the Paris area was not only for fun, it was a very efficient way for me to avoid trafic jam and arrive on time at all of my appointments. I had been riding for 10 years almost everyday until I moved to the USA. I have not put my butt on a bike since in the last 7 1/2 years. Funny that we talk about bikes because today I told a guy in my team that I was interested in buying his bike, a 1985 Honda Magna in pristine condition with 14k mile on it. He put it on sale for $1800 but for me would give it for $1300. I cannot pass on it. I think it is a good bike to refresh my ridding skills before bying something bigger. Here it is:

The Polaris Scrambler 500 is mine and the Yamaha Raptor 660R is his...
