^Here is your map for reference - Concealed Carry Permit Reciprocity Maps - USA Carry

Based on the map, basically besides the horrendous Northeast (NY, NJ, MD, CT, MA, RI), Illinois and MN, Georgia (randomly, I have no idea why) and the west coast (CA, OR, WA), looks like the rest of the country is yours for the carrying with just your resident VA permit my friend - Not bad at all! 37-38 states is about the maximum you are going to get -

What is going to be your EDC of choice and what pistols do you train with?

Well I had to change my schedule around and wasn't able to do the class over the weekend.

I don't have an EDC but I am leaning towards picking up a Sig P320 Compact, possibly chambered in .45 acp. I currently train with a Sig P226 9mm.

Often, as in TiAg's story, the would-be victim presenting a gun is enough to deter the bad guy. Bad guys want easy targets. Being ready to defend yourself can make them reconsider their actions.

Another story from a friend. He grew up in a bad area of the city and was visiting family who still lives there. Sitting at a stop light with his daughter strapped into her car seat in the back, a guy walks up with a gun and says "get out of your car". My friend pulls out his revolver and says "no". The bad guy's eyes get huge and he runs away. Then my friend sees another bad guy come out of hiding from behind his car and also run away.

Do you think the bad guys are going to wait around and let my friend take his daughter out of her car seat? Hardly...had he gotten out, not only would his car be gone, but his daughter along with it.
Your friends story is hogwash. Lol. Pistol brandishing doesn't work like that.

If you say so...

I know him well enough where he wouldn't BS that story.

Fun to get caught up on this thread. Congrats on your wife's win, RB!

I picked up a new toy as a birthday present to myself. It's a B&T APC9. Now I'm waiting for the ATF to process my paperwork to add a stock to it and turn it into a short barrel rifle.

^^How sexy is that Eric! How is the baby? Is this your first Class III item purchase? I am wondering about how timely the ATF can be - I'd like to get a Mossberg 590A1 with the 14" Barrel but would have to wait a bit - NJ doesn't allow any NFA purchases.

But the best part of it all - is I'm finally on the way out of NJ! We are relocating to Raleigh suburban area, our house was on the market a week and we have 6 offers above asking price, time must be right!

I can smell the Colt 6920 in full un-neutered trim from here, no more 15 round magazine capacity cutoff, stupid "assault weapons" bans, or any other nonsense like that (hence why I staved a few purchases off this past year, for good reason!)

My wife actually wants me to buy a pair of Colt's with no furniture (she wants to pick out her own Magpul set) and we can make "his and hers" freedom rifles once we officially are NC residents!

We were down in the OBX visiting my in-laws at the outdoor range, having a great time on Tuesday - my Glock 19 and my PPQ shot phenomenal, and the wife shot both - she likes my Glock! so good thing she is getting her own now - and she shot her 10/22 a bit which is a super fun little rifle to shoot.

I haven't decided if I am going to make "one more" purchase before I leave NJ or not, I am thinking get myself a 45 Shield just because with the rebate until the end of June they are stupid cheap at $275, or maybe add that VP9 I have been itching to try out. I do have another Blue Label coupon coming in a couple months for another Glock (haven't decided if I want a 17 or 19 MOS and add a Trijicon optic on it, or just a standard G17 or even a single stack G43) - but I might purchase something else in the meantime. Deals on firearms are good right now, thanks President Trump!

@ CleanIsFast - P320 Compact is a hot seller right now, I have it in 45ACP (9+1), its reliable, made well, I love it - the 9mm is also a good option, its a bit thinner and lighter in slide weight, and packs a 15+1 capacity which is on par with Glock 19 -

Either Compact P320 would be a great choice, I'm not much of a 40 - "Slow & Weak" fan myself so that and the random 357Sig are not for me.

(no offense to any .40Cal boys I read that on another gun forum lol)

Yeah this is my first foray into the world of NFA. I'm expecting my stamp to show up around Christmas time. You can check out www.nfatracker.com to see how long people are waiting. It's basically about 8-10 months.

But for now, I'll make due with the sling. The APC9 is stupid fun to shoot and is going to be even better with the stock.

There are some ridiculous deals on guns right now. ARs for $400 and Shields for $275 are just bonkers. I really want a Shield in 9mm but the wife will probably kill me since I just dropped so much cash on the APC9.

Glad to hear your getting to move to a free state! Hope you love it in NC. Sounds like you have some super fun AR build plans!

And Performance Center ported Shield 45 with Night Sights for $519 after rebate! Ahhhh

Wish us luck brother I will update as the move progresses - the APC9 looks like so much fun to shoot - which as we know is most important as I've seen some beautiful firearms that were zero fun to actually shoot.

I'm cool with Constitutional carry, and concealed carry as well, but I draw the line at open carry. I will leave any establishment (quickly, and loudly, especially if with family) that I'm at that allows someone to open carry.
