Forget a pistol grip shotgun. They are extremely hard to control because there's nothing stabilizing it and your shoulder can't help absorb the recoil. Unless your wrists are stronger than your shoulder... <insert whacking-off joke here> Plus, when you hold one up in a firing position, it's not any shorter than an AR or regular shotgun with a stock.

I'd suggest just getting the NJ-compliant S&W. Sport model or not, doesn't really matter. The only difference is the forward assist and dust cover - neither of which is necessary for the range or home defense. And S&W makes a good rifle, that's on par with the LE6920.

BTW, you can sometimes find the 6920 online for $800-900 so don't count it out. I think I paid about $825 or $850 for my 6720 (lightweight Colt) with a local shop price matching Buds Gun Shop's website.

I think thats what I'm leaning towards Eric as I already have a pump - I'll continue looking for the 6920 - only one I can find locally is a no furniture or magazine version for $950 and a complete Magpul furniture + all compliance work for $1,300 which is way overpriced -

But again most shops just sell the compliant versions because its easier than gunsmithing tons of rifles -

I got the LGS down to $600 cash for the S&W Sport II which is about as good as its gonna get - some 15/20 Pmags, and a good optic down the road and maybe some Magpul furniture and it could be a great starter rifle and an AR is still a good home defense option as well.

For $600 cash on that S&W, drop everything and run down to your LGS and pick it up.

That is the plan Eric after I get home from vacation

Well I bit the bullet yesterday while shooting and brought home a Glock 19 Gen4 on Saturday - the VP9 is a super nice feeling pistol in the hand - problem is I have small hands and the Glocks just feel natural to me - in addition, a drawback of my small hands is HK 's paddle release, it's too short (Walther's almost extends to the middle of the trigger guard) for me and I obviously can't drop it with my thumb so in the shop I was awkwardly curving my middle finger a lot, and dexterity wise, it's just more natural for a traditional button mag release to operate one handed.

If the paddle extended out a bit more to not make it awkward for my hands, I probably would have taken it home yesterday. Lighter trigger out of the box than my Glocks, but he break and reset aren't as crisp and well defined as my Glocks or my PPQ -

And obviously since I own the subcompact Glock it's nice to have an interchangeable system -

My small hands is my problem for me, I looked at a full sized G21 in .45 ACP but it feels like I'm handling a T bone steak to me - it's a beast of a pistol but just too large to feel comfortable to me.

Next year with my GSSF I'll look into adding a single stack 43 and possibly letting it be my wife's. Or maybe if they have a G36 Gen4 by then.

I can't wait to pick up the Sport II however in a couple weeks

Before buying a G43, take a close look at the Walther PPS. They just released an M2 version which does away with the paddle mag release. Only downside is that there's not an ambi option for you. Maybe the aftermarket will fill that gap after it's been out for a little while.

Yeah I also kept the G34 in mind, not sure if they sold as Blue Label though - I have a year to use the discount coupon that gets issued in May - maybe a Gen5 would be out by then

And yes I would definitely have the Walther PPS M2, if the mag release was able to be swapped! Its a super sharp looking pistol and like a mini PPQ!

Selling an assault weapon designed for military use to the general public poses a risk the gun will be misused.

Stupid liberal NY rag...

I'm pretty sure that the military doesn't use the AR-15. It's a pretty ineffective battle rifle these days, being that it's only semi automatic.

Also, how many people sue car manufacturers when their loved one gets into a wreck after speeding?

The whole lawsuit is preposterous. At least the journalist got the title right...

That pic of the dumb lesbian MA trooper holding the Bushmaster gets me every time with her stupid face

I have made it a point to say "modern sporting rifle" instead of AR - AR to the public means assault. The MP5 nowadays might as well be a 10/22. Evil black rifles and their evil flash hiders and evil collapsible stocks (I live in an AWB state currently in case you couldn't tell)

And before the modern sporting rifle, there was an M1 Garand (which packs a hell of a whopper of a cartridge in comparsion) - I don't even want to get into ballistics.

Sigh, yes every car accident we get into we should sue the carmakers for injuries. And when people who try to sexually assault women get shot they should sue the gun manufacturers too. I mean how could you in your right mind sell something that is made to inflict pain, harm, or kill? *gasp*
