I think you know the answer to that. The branches of gov't make the rules... so everyone goes unpunished. Ajit Pai for falsifying public polls for net neutrality, Pelosi (and many others on both sides of the aisle) for stocks, Trump for business earnings tied to public office, and the list could go on and on.

And now, since gov't and corporate worlds are so incestuous... corporate executives are afforded the same immunity. See, the aforementioned Ajit Pai as a perfect example. He has hopped between corporate employment and public "service" for his entire working life.

At this point, until Citizens United is overturned and lobbying is outlawed, I'm done with politics in our country. I voted against the incumbent in every election since 2012 and will continue to do so until the above criteria are met. There's a special place in Hell reserved for politicians. All of them. /rant

The CDC, WHO and NIH are held to best practice standards. The data requirements required before a conclusion is provided to the public takes longer to develop. They are not political organizations. Data for these organizations are largely dependent on reporting from countries and from states and counties. These organizations aren't hiding anything.

IMO politicians such as Ted Cruz and Rand Paul and of course Fox not news that have their head up Trump's rump and unqualified individuals that instigate the mistrust and doubt. The Yahoo article is an example of false, distorted and taken out of context information. It perpetuates this divide of facts and fiction that the American public is smothered in and takes sides from largely based on political affiliation rather than facts.
