Sad isn't it. A nation with so much world influence and mass blindfolding.

Actually, I think a two party system has its merits. In countries with more parties, you end up with coalition governments that tend to be paralyzed into inaction just as much, if not more, than a 2-party system.

That may have merit, but we'll never know. How about this as an offer, the DNC and RNC aren't required to put up just one combo..they could submit multiple combos if they wished

We have a multi-party system in the UK which operates on the first past the post principle. It has been many decades since we had what is termed a "hung-parliament". In practice, although we have many parties, it is a de facto two party system in that either Labour or the Conservatives normally achieve enough MPs to get past the post. But typically the Liberals get about 20-40 seats (out of 650) with a smattering of other seats going to people like the Ulster Unionist, Scottish Nationals and Plaid Cymru. Unfortunately, as of now, the Monster Raving Loony party is yet to win a seat.

What's sad is that this seems to be like sports. People will just vote for their side... adapt their viewpoints to "their" candidate.

Politics (& religion) are messed. Running a country involves mud-slinging directly at another person. Beautiful.

I've voted Democratic (more than once) and Republican (more than once). Have you?

No, I've voted only once ever and only because Bush was so horrible his 1st 4 years.

Anyway, one or two people on this board does not mean same goes for everyone else - not sure if you were trying to portray that. Do you really doubt what I said was probably true of most Americans?

To be honest, it's refreshing to see policies discussed here one by one. I just don't have that kind of faith in all of America.
