Anyone notice Bidens face...My 52" High Def Sony LCD had him looking VERY splotchy and sickly. He also looked extremely nervous at first with sweat pouring down his face. Palin lived up to her MILF reputation.

Heard a great line today:

"everyone cries about how they want some one more like them, not a career politician. Then when they get it, they ridicule it"

I think both of them did "o.k." at best. Biden was 'presidential' and/or 'stuffy' depending on how you want to say it. Palin was 'typical mom' and/or not very 'professional' which is good or bad depending on your view.

I think the fact that Palin did as well as she did was a relief for the reps and since they were really just hoping she wouldn't screw up too much. She did some damage control by not answering any questions and kept to her script. She was well coached and it showed.

Biden met expectations and gave the dems exactly what they expected. The strategy of not going after her and only focusing on McCain didn't really help or hurt the dems. I think if he would have went after her and got her to speak unscripted then it would have been a much more interesting debate.

Bottom line, nobody did well - Palin just did much better than expected. I don't know how many people got swayed one way or the other based on this debate. I think the only group that may have been impacted are some people who are/were planning on voting Obama only because Palin is so bad. Maybe she showed that she's not as bad as they thought.

Some Thoughts from my view of the Debates so far:
I wonder if our nation will ever get to a point in the future where we make a judgment on Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates that go beyond such superficial aspects. Maybe it is human nature to be so picky about such inconsequential things as appearance, accent, choice of words, etc., as opposed to where they stand on the issues that really affect this country. Also, when are the majority of Americans going to wake up, pull their heads out of the sand, question what the news media (both right and left leaning sources), is feeding them, and pro-actively educate themselves on what each of the candidates say they will do and learning what what they have done in the past, (as far as voting on previous issues...). Will we as a country once again become a dynamic, participatory Democracy demanding accountably and responsibility. Or will our society continue to drift off on our mindless consumer quest for more truly unnecessary "stuff", pursuing passive mind-numbing leisure activities, ( i.e. video games, etc.), forsaking mind-growing learning activities. Are we really as dumb as some political advisers think we are to believe much of the rehearsed blather that we are hearing vs. facts that can be checked and confirmed? Are we really that naive? I hope that people will step up and show that America can correct its course by choosing the best candidates for President/Vice President. If not, I think we will see our country follow in the footsteps of Great Britain, shrinking from its once global Empire and stature to a shrunken version of its former self, living off of reputation and attitude.

Well it sure helped John F Kennedy. Kennedy was good looking, tan and wore makeup for the televised event. Nixon declined any makeup and came across stone faced and pale.

Those who listened on the radio overwhelmingly though Nixon won the debate. Those who watched the debate on television overwhelmingly thought Kennedy won the debate.

John Kennedy ended up winning the election by fewer than 100,000 votes.

We're a superficial society.

Did anyone else notice Biden crowding her after the debate and how uncomfortable she felt? He was totally crowding her personal space and that even with her hubby behind her. After he turned around, she whispered into her Hubby's ear. I am surprised nobody else posted this, it happened 60 seconds after the debate. He was rubbing his boner on her thigh.

As I recall reading, Nixon also was ill, with a fever (some viral thing). So he literally looked sick up against the younger, good-looking Kennedy.

No one else gave it a second thought because none of us we're
on that stage to hear a word of what was said.

Secondly we can only assume what his intentions or actions
were or what her intentions or actions were or what may
have been going on or what he or she really did or said.....

Just think about what you're saying. Everybody's family is right there
and Biden was rubbing his boner on her thigh? ...........
