LOL...His very comment is racist. It always seems that those who cry racism are the first to invoke race as an issue.

Any mention other than his personal or political qualifications, such as 'The First Black President" is a racial statement.

The fact that he is Bi-racial played a role in his being elected. Which makes this partially a race based election. The Republicans screwing EVERYTHING up opened the election for the Democrats. They simply had to pony up a decent candidate.

Do not kid yourself, his qualifications are average. His knack for emulating Kennedy is genius.

Nobama but NoBush is even better!

I think he is referring to an old belief in the days of slavery where people were considered black if they had any black blood or ancestry which gave them dark skin.

It is ridiculous or silly at best to label someone "African American" who has a multi-racial background. I prefer American if you are going to use a label. But then again I'm not a racist bigot.

Which part are you questioning? That I am in a minority, or that I am not a racist?

After my post of

This is amazing - those airmen being there is incredible. So many African American stories serving as the basis for what has made us great. This is such a great day.

I'll rephrase my question: Are you implying that I am racist? I don't think you meant to imply that, but your post hit right after mine and I wasn't sure.

I wasn't talking to you specifically at all. My post implied that everyone who a) voted for Obama because he was black, or b) is getting all excited over his blackness as POTUS, is strictly speaking, racist. I couldn't care less about the man's race. I thought that is what MLK lived and died for: "content of his character, not the color of his skin". How is doing exactly the opposite of MLK's vision anything but promoting racism?

MLK died for equality for all mankind. It is because of MLK's dream, and for what he sacrificed his life, that people are as excited as they are over President Obama's ascension to the highest position in the land.
