What actually ends up happening is that all of those country bumpkins that listen to these shows can't differentiate between fact and FICTION. Unfortunately, not everyone listening to Glenn, Rush, Sean, Bill O' and even Joe the Plumber, is as astute as you Lobster, and could resort to violence.

I don't watch MSNBC but do watch CNN and FOX. The outrageous characters on FOX are nothing more than comic acts (IMHO) yet what actually ends up happening is that all of those bright minds that listen to them can't differentiate between fact and FICTION. Got to love Cut & Paste. Somebody ran out of talking points. Still not getting how Glenn Beck is Ultra-Right...or who says today "Obama the Muslim".....got a recent quotation stating that? Personally, I like Glenn Beck..he is fun to watch.....O'Reilly gets goofy but if you're looking to hear a viewpoint he is good. I liked Cafferty up until the elections where he became completely DEM bias. That Sanchez guy on CNN is a DUI'ing murderer...and a moron.....and so on. Anderson Cooper is about the only person on CNN I can tolerate.

I think what Chile1 is saying is that Fox as well as MSNBC, first and foremost, are a political commentary networks. CNN, at least claims to be, as James Earl Jones says, "The Most Trusted Name In News." The problem with Fox and MSNBC is that its viewers take commentary and opinion as fact, which is very dangerous. Then folks like O'Reilly (Tiller story) try and hide behind the fact that they are not journalists or reporters, and that they should not be held to the same standard of journalstic integrity.
I watch Hannity and O'Reilly almost every night. Not because I agree with their views, but becuse they amaze me with their arrogance, boastfulness and pithyness. It makes for great entertainment and drama. Last edited by Krimson X; 06-08-2009 at 11:45 AM. |

Glenn Beck for instance, is obsessed with conspiracy theories (i.e. FEMA Camps or "Obama-is-coming-for-our-guns" hysteria) to alarm these country bumpkins. Have you heard of Richard Poplawski? Well this road scholar (and fan of Glenn Beck's) was convinced the government wanted to take away his guns and ended up killing three police officers. He specifically feared "the Obama gun ban that's supposedly on the way" and "didn't like his rights being infringed upon." (FYI, there is no Obama gun ban in the works - or is there one.....Wagner??). He also feared America was "going to see the end of our times". Guess who inspired him and where he got all his "news" from....... The catch phrase is "differentiate news from FICTION".

![]() Hilary Clinton is a notorious anti-gun advocate in her thoughts/policy notions so the concept that Obama may lean that way is not far fetched considering he appointed her Sec of State. And you first sentence is false, FOX (or that ultra-right group as you've called them) is routinely at the very top of viewing numbers...so people must enjoy it Since you defined FOX as: wild-eyed, fanatical, over-the-top warnings of a disappearing republic, fascism on the march, socialism, Communism, dictatorship, dogs/cats living together And if you're going to insinuate that "Pop and Lock" was driven by Glenn Beck, add the following: Quote:
