The WHO and CDC were two of the sources for the information provided to Trump in February. The CDC 'reports' to Trump. Both make recommendations to those that make the decisions of what action will be taken. Neither have any power to initiate action.

COVID-19 was a novel virus. As the organizations learned about the virus they revised the recommendations giving the appearance that they didn't know what they were doing or had been lying but that was not the case. Recall that at that time China would not release any of their findings so they couldn't do much until the virus spread into Europe.

Per Woodward's book, I have read it and am almost through it a second time listening to audio version, he was also warned by one of his advisors who had spent several years in China and had sources there. He was told to consider the virus to be similar, as dangerous as the Spanish Flu of 1918.

Early on the daily COVID-19 updates were strictly from the health experts. Trump didn't want the truth out so he put Pence in charge. He still wasn't satisfied so he took over the updates and started lying about what was going and the Corona virus update became a few sentences and then it was all about how great a job he was doing, how it was under control and would soon be gone. The rest became a mini campaign speech.

I get there's a need for the Republicans to have their representation and vice versa.

I just think to put out somebody like Trump as your representative is a very bad move.

He's the worst embodiment of what's wrong in a human being.

Vindictive, petty, no morality, no ethics, no honesty, ego maniac, text book narcissist. I mean you can't find a worst person to be our president and yet he ran this country for 4 years and is now refusing to leave.

It's just sad to watch.

I think history will find that he did more damage to our democratic system than anyone else could have done in 10, 20 years time.

He's not going away. He will never go peacefully into the night. He will find a way to keep himself in the political limelight, in the new and run the Republican party from the outside in. Word is he will start his own TV channel so he can continue to disrupt our democracy and build and milk his base/ I don't think the Republican party will turn on him based on so few that have spoken out about his behavior since the election. They are well past the time that they could have salvaged their personal integrity. They have not protected the Constitution and are now cementing their legacy by still being Lemmings following Trump off the cliff of anything based in reality. We have a long way back from being the laughing stock of the world. Just wait until we rejoin the Paris agreement, WHO etc. The things he touts about and looks on as important to his legacy. Karma always gets people like him though it almost always long long overdue. What happens with the spread of COVID 19 under Biden may well be part of the karma gotcha.

BC how are you liking the X5M? I’m looking at a 2012 X5M with Monte Carlo Blue and Silverstone interior. It has 63,000 miles with all the open recall work done at a dealership in October: auxiliary coolant pump, drive shaft, and both front air bags. Getting a PPI on Monday to check it over since it’s out of state for me.

Any advice before I buy it?
