I am now waiting to hear back from the owner of the place to give me a range of dates to choose from. I am really hoping for late September. That will give me enough time to plan, enough time for you guys to plan, and it's before "the season" hits out here and hotels and flights get more expensive, and the venue becomes less available as polo season gets ready to go and more corporate events book there.

Good point. He should bring both. The wifee can drive "her" X, and Kevin can bring his new boy toy

Here's an idea Kevin. Remember at WF2 when I bought a bunch of Philips Silvervision bulbs for the tail lights and offered to sell/install them at the meet? Let's do something like that too. BTW, I still have those original bulbs in .

Scrolling back about 5 pages looking for dates...anything looking solid? With this searing heat, maybe October would be nice? I have friends coming to town for SurfExpo (with equipment demos after) Sept 15-22.

Definitely Palm Springs?

It will definately be Palm Springs. That's where the ultimate venue is.

What's the address of some hotels or the venue site so I can see how many miles and how long of a drive we're talking. If it's too far, maybe we'll just fly out, spend time with the unheardof if they're not on tour and go to westfest

And so long it's not 9/23-24 I'll seriously consider going

Just a caution: Do not call the Polo Club. They don't know anything about this yet. At this point I am dealing with the owner and when that is done he will hand me off to the office staff to do the actual planning.

As far as hotels, the Palm Springs/Palm Desert/La Quinta area has outstanding hotels and resorts. It's a world class resort destination with everything from huge casino/hotels to spa resorts, to small B&B's. I would recommend staying in Palm Desert or La Quinta. The farthest out I would stay is Rancho Mirage. When I set up WestFest III I was able to get some discounted hotel rates. I'm planning on getting that arranged again. The hotels that were willing to discount were the Holiday Inn in Palm Desert/Indian Wells and the Embassy Suites in Palm Desert.

When it's time to plan hotels, I'll be happy to provide recommendations to people.
