Yeah - she ran Alaska which is a government itself.
A senator doesn't run a government, they debate or do nothing.

Well you are for sure going to get someone with no experience if Obama wins.

I'm still undecided whether this was a good move, if his intentoins were to pick up Hillary supporters. I think those individuals are too smart for this.

That would also assume that Hillary supporters were passionate about Hillary only because she was a woman, not because of her issues. I think there was a specific reason why they wanted that woman (Hillary) for president. Palin is not a "insert female candidate here to win" replacement for Hillary.

That is not true. Obama votes that he is present for voting. He just never actually votes on anything. So he does actually do something.

Because she was a woman scorned.

In the words of McCain - "She doesn't listen to anyone who tells her to sit down.... She's what this country needs."

She's ready!

Let me clarify.

From my seat, I don't believe his intentions were to pick up Hillary supporters. We all know that many Hillary supporters would never vote Republican even if Hillary herself switched political parties.

What I think this move largely did was take the word CHANGE that Obama keeps throwing around, and stuffs it down the throat of the Dem's.

Obama can say change as much as he wants but here is McCain, a Rep, and he is the one that is sticking his neck out to do something different. Who ever would have thought the the REP's would have a female running mate?

So Obama can say Change but McCain is really doing it. And in my opinion, that is a landmark decision that will help swing voters see a more progressive REP party.

So the Hillary voters, "some" of which were supportive because she could have been the first female Pres. May now re-evaluate who the candidate is that is truly trying to make "change"..

I think McCain is in a win, win. His party would never vote for Obama because he chose a female running mate. But many potential Obama voters may have to re-evaluate who the person is that is actively taking steps towards real change, not just the word..

This decision seems like a good one. McCain just crushed Obama's entire, one word, campaign.

I agree. For the most part Democrats and Liberals like to complain and protest. They also like to tell people what they would like.

The Republicans are the ones who go out and take what they want.

Obama says change a hundred times and McCain does it.

Good strategy...Palin was an award winning HS athlete, beauty queen, and a corruption fighting popular govenor of the Great State of Alaska. She is a nice balance to McCain.

Add it up...the Dems have a popular black candidate and the Hillary voters. Everyone is talking change. Obama is a terrific public speaker. Lots of celebrity endorsements.

The GOP has a angly old man with the perception of a third term for Bush. The pachyderms also have the cloud of Iraq and a lousy economy. How do you win with those handicaps? Palin provides the window dressing... and they need to push the Barack Buttons to create fear - higher taxes, bigger goverment, inexperience, national defense, etc.

BTW, if your household income is over $250K (which is 90% of everyone I know) Obama is getting ready to kill you on taxes.

You can always consider a vote for McCain a vote for her... unless he's like cheney and has signed a deal with Satan.

He's also just levelling the playing field a little (IMO) since you know there is no way we will get through this election without Obama (or at least his "rogue" interns) pulling the race card (since he's a whopping 1/8th black or something like that )
