I actually have had them resurfaced once already. I am thinking of looking for a decent used set. That may be the best way to go. But like i said, I like the look of some of these aftermarket...

I'm pretty certain that the High disks are for MK...

I'm pretty certain that the High disks are for MK I through MK IV. The Pro disks are for the newer iDrive based systems.

You man not know it, but the 4.6i (and perhaps others) have a water cooled alternator. Mine busted and it wasn't cheap to replace, but it didn't take the engine with it. Keep your fingers crossed.

What else needs to be done to the engine to to things right? The SC and exhaust sounds like a good idea, but if I need to do a bunch of other rebuilding I'll need to plan all of that out.

For the record, Trapdoor is 100% correct. A new, and better 271 cd restored my system the next morning and all is again well in Nav land.
