So, my 2002 4.4 X5 went into BMW yesterday as the steering was creaking again. The last two times the steering rack had failed, this time it's on of the CV joints. The other is "on its way out"...

I didn't have to take each sensor out - I just removed the plug on the right side rear of the car (as it goes through the shell of the car), unclipped the whole plastic bumper with all the sensors...

As a fellow "Seattleite" I've also added Scorpion Ice and Snows to my X5, but on the X5 19" Sport rims (I'm going to buy new summer rims next year).

The ride is *much* softer than my previous 19"...
