Have them check the intermediate levers on the valve timing gear. That was a known issue for 2004 & 2005 X5's with the N62 engine (which includes the 4.8is), produced from 6/04 up to 2/05...

I wonder if you can tap into the ambient lighting behind interior door handles to MOD and illuminate exterior door handles?

Any Idea? if this will work with out setting off bulb out warnings?

06 4.8is with adaptive xenons......just get in your ride with the lights on and turn the wheel to the pass side......of lamps follow....then you have adaptive.....

Switch to heaver oil....the valves need a certain weight to pump up at first. Not uncommon, my 540ith 200K does it for the first few min then goes away.
