Agree it's not a bad idea to have an extra tire. But some people don't live in a house and live in a city (big apartment garages-- don't let you store them and most smaller buildings might not have...

I want to say it was $300 a rim. They have a warranty on it usually for workmanship as well--I had 2 that got some weird small hairline scratches on it after 6 months and they did them no charge.
