X6 oil consumption?
Looks like my '08 X6 50i is pretty thirsty with regards to oil consumption. Need to add a quarter after every 1,500 miles. Any other figures from you?

I bet it was this
I bet the reason was frozen breather tube. When it freezes, the engine always injects the oil out. Before it happens, a lot of white smoke comes out and after few seconds, the failure happens....

The problem was misfires in several cylinders....
The problem was misfires in several cylinders. One coil was broken and was required to be replaced. In addition, all the spaks plugs were in "nasty condition" and they have to replaced as well.

I recommend not to put any water to the tank. Water causes corrosion, increases the freezing point of the solution and is the typical reason for the coolant change.
