Anyone successfully installed an extended front driveshaft

Without taking out the transfer case? I'm 1/4 inch too long to slide it in and really don't want (or should) tap it in. Any tricks to this? Thanks!

It is the top metal clips by the mirror that doesn't want to go in. Everything else fits just fine all the way back to lock pin. Very confusing.

wondering if 295/35/20 will work for the fronts on a 4.6 v. 275/40/20.

sure the profile is thinner but the width is wider so the ratio should remain about the same.
