Gave up on insurance.....
Paid for a new diff which i imported from state to Aus. Car is now back on road.
Cost me around AUD$3000 to fix which is roughly the same as USD$3000 with today...

I too am struggle with X5 coz it is simply not really big enough. If the new X5 in 2014 is not any larger than the E70, I think I will jump ship to the dark side AUDI an MB.
