I have seen bad ccv cause very early failure of vc gasket. I would replace ccv and re-seal vc. I have also seen non original bmw vc gasket leak right after install. Also always use new grommets

Dont worry about the awd thing. Get a selectable locking transfer case. It will not make a difference to the traction control at all. The dana 300 is a 2wd 4wd selectable transfer case with low gear....
